IndianAgri publishes perspective pieces by the people inside Indian agriculture — agronomists, founders, scientists, FPO leaders, students and growers. Not press releases and not opinion about opinion: an argument you can back with something you did.

You send the argument

Not a finished article. The point you want to make and what you are basing it on — a season you ran, a trial, a survey, a pattern you keep seeing.

An editor reads it

We check who you are and whether the claim holds. If we can use it, you get a reply saying what we would want and roughly how long it should run.

We do the writing

You supply the thinking and the records; we handle structure, house style and the arithmetic. Nothing publishes until you have seen it.

Pitch a perspective

One form, one thing. If you would rather talk first, the contact desk is open.

What we look for

Something you did, not something you read: A crop you took from sowing to sale, a machine you ran, a scheme you actually applied under. First-hand beats well-argued.
Numbers with dates and places attached: Yields, costs, prices, timings. A claim with a figure behind it survives editing; an adjective does not.
A season that lost money: As worth reading as one that paid, and rarer — almost nobody publishes those.
A view from a specific place: One district, one mandi, one polyhouse. The general picture is already well covered.

Before you write

Read a few that ran. It is the fastest way to see the register we edit to, and how much of the credit stays with the contributor.

Published perspectives How we select and publish

We verify contributors before publishing, so tell us where you work and add a LinkedIn profile if you have one. Submitting does not guarantee publication — editorial judgement stays with the desk, and we say no plainly rather than going quiet.
