What the numbers say

  • India's agricultural and allied exports crossed US$50 billion for the first time in 2021-22 and peaked at about US$53.1 billion in 2022-23.
  • Exports eased to about US$48 billion in 2023-24, partly as export curbs on rice, wheat and sugar reined in outbound shipments.
  • Rice, marine products, spices, sugar and buffalo meat are among the largest contributors to the export basket.
