What the numbers say
- Marine products are among India's largest single agri-export items; frozen shrimp alone is roughly two-thirds of the value, and the USA is the top market.
- Value dipped to $7.38 billion in 2023-24 (from $8.09 billion) on softer global prices — even as volume hit an all-time high of about 17.8 lakh tonnes.
- It recovered slightly to about $7.45 billion in 2024-25.
