What the numbers say
- India is the world's largest spice producer and exporter, accounting for over 40% of global production.
- Spice exports hit a record of about $4.72 billion in 2024-25, then eased ~6% to about $4.43 billion in 2025-26.
- Chilli, cumin, turmeric, pepper and cardamom lead the export basket.
