What the numbers say
- India is the world's largest milk producer, contributing roughly a quarter of global output.
- Output rose 3.58% to 247.87 million tonnes in 2024-25, from 239.30 MT the year before.
- Per-capita availability reached 485 grams per day in 2024-25, up from 319 g/day in 2014-15.
