What the numbers say
- India is the world's largest tractor market. Domestic sales crossed 10 lakh units for the first time in 2025-26, closing at 11,60,231 — up 23.5% on the year.
- That followed a dip to about 8.76 lakh in 2023-24 on an uneven monsoon, and a 7% recovery to 9,39,713 units in 2024-25.
- Because a tractor is a big-ticket farm purchase, its sales are a widely-watched barometer of rural demand.
