What the numbers say
- Foodgrain output hit a record 357.73 million tonnes in 2024-25, up 25.4 MT (7.7%) on 2023-24 — the largest single-year jump in a decade.
- Rice and wheat both set records: rice 150.18 MT (up 12.4 MT) and wheat 117.95 MT (up 4.7 MT).
- Pulses (25.68 MT) and coarse cereals (63.92 MT, of which millets 18.59 MT) made up the rest of the total.
