What the numbers say
- Horticulture output reached a record 370.74 million tonnes in 2024-25, up 4.5% on 2023-24 — comfortably ahead of foodgrain production.
- Vegetables (217.80 MT) and fruits (117.65 MT) dominate the basket; onion jumped 26.8% to 30.77 MT and potato 2.7% to 58.57 MT.
- Area grew 3.6% to 301.36 lakh hectares. The First Advance Estimate for 2025-26 is 370.85 MT — essentially flat.
